What else can I say other than..things never quit working at opportune times. So our water heater has been going down hill for a while. To be fair, it lasted almost 22 years! WL Staton was the only place to call me back in a prompt manner. They are the only one who came out to look and speak to me face to face. And Sam, the tech that showed up, was nothing short of amazing. He walked me through the process, made sure I was comfortable and had answered all of my questions. Were they the least expensive, no. But in my opinion it was worth it. It was not a contractor grade heater and Sam was a pro during every step of the way! Would definitely use them again and request Sam!

Mike Leedy went above and beyond on this service call. Technicians like him will keep customers coming back. Truly a wonderful experience all around.

I’ve had Staton come to my home for both HVAC and plumbing maintenance/repair over the past year. Service has been excellent every time. The technicians let me know what was necessary and what was trivial; I never felt like they were trying to pressure me into anything. Most recently, Jason came out for a plumbing follow-up to replace a hose bib in our finished basement, which required cutting into the drywall. He did a great job covering up the hole in the drywall with an access panel; it looks like it has always been there. I’ll definitely be using Staton for future HVAC and plumbing services.

Jerrell (Jor-El) is a fantastic plumber and a great person to boot. Highly recommend having him over to do the high-quality work that he’s obviously capable of. Thank you very much Jerrell! Matt Kramer came to do some work yesterday, it was very high-quality and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with Matt while he worked. Matt seems to be a very experienced plumber who had nothing but excellent things to say about working at Staton. I think it’s important to note that he said that Staton is an excellent business to work for. Any company that treats their employees this well, he’s gonna have my business going forward.

Our water heater all of the sudden stopped working and we had water dripping out the bottom. We were able to get a tech the same day. Sam was amazing, he taught us about the new water heater as he was installing it and we had a really good conversation throughout. Would give him 6 stars of I could.

Staton is top-notch. All of their staff are personable, professional, hardworking and knowledgeable. They go to great lengths to make sure that their customers are completely satisfied. They have done multiple tricky projects for me in my historic home in downtown Annapolis and conceived some extremely innovative solutions to unique and challenging issues. They are intimately familiar with the Annapolis permitting process. One particularly difficult project that involved moving a 120-year-old radiator and trying to retrofit a washer and dryer into my historic home was flawlessly executed for me. I definitely recommend Staton and think very highly of the manager Ryan who has over seen the projects for my home.

So grateful that I chose Staton for our plumbing emergency. They were able to send a plumber out within an hour of us calling. Jason arrived, he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and thorough with the resolution of the issue. I discovered a leak in my pipes behind the wall. I called Staton and they came out right away. Wes came to the house and was able to locate the leak (we did lose some drywall as expected) and fixed it in a day. Wes’ experience showed-he was professional, knowledgeable, thorough and has a great sense of humor. Next time we use Staton we will be requesting him.

First time homeowner and our HVAC system decided it was its time. Stanton’s team was not only able to come take a look same day, but was also able to give us a quote for a new system, get an installation appointment set up and the install completed all within a three day period. The team of Justin and Darrius did an outstanding job installing my new furnace and air conditioning unit as well as a new thermostat. They arrived on time and got right to work. After working most of the day and completing the work, Justin showed me the two new units, which I'm very happy with. He also showed me how to use the new thermostat. I've used the Staton company before and have always been happy with the work that is done. That is why I gave 5 stars and recommend them as a reliable company.

Last night I had no water when I took my shower. Staton’s was here this morning and replaced my water system As it was very old and leaking and not working properly. Mike and Logan were amazing and extremely professional and had the entire job done by afternoon. It looks fantastic and I have great water pressure!

Repaired a small leak in our Oil Furnace and tuned it. Seems knowledgeable in the workings of a furnace. Replaced a pump that we hope will improve how well it works and more energy efficient.

When Steve came over to assist my family and I with our thermostat issue, he was very professional, informative, and thorough with his troubleshooting. We have used W.L. Staton since we bought our home. They are always responsive, know their stuff, keep us apprised of what work needs to be done and why, are transparent about pricing, and explain what's happening as they proceed. The techs who come to our home are always friendly and polite, and Joe was no exception. Very satisfied with the service. 3/14/26: This past week we had Staton replace two aging air-conditioning units in our home with new Bosch heat pumps. Our home was built in 1963, and we know from many previous projects that it sometimes has odd quirks and unpleasant surprises in store for the unwary renovator/installer; so we were nervous about this project, particularly since one of the units to be replaced was tucked away in a very tight area under the roof, accessible only through a small panel located high on a wall in a back closet. But the installation went like a dream. Chip and his team were true professionals--they arrived on time, they were friendly and courteous, they explained everything they would be doing on the walk-through, they protected our floors and carpets (and made sure everything was clean before they left), and they completed the work ahead of the expected schedule. Before leaving, they tested the new system and gave us a little tutorial on how to use the new thermostats. And they also told us that if we had any questions or problems , Chip would be happy to come back out and take care of them for us. We are now enjoying the benefits of the new installation and are totally satisfied with the product and the work done to install it. (And I should mention that we had bids from several companies on this project, and Staton's was not only very competitive initially, but also they worked with use to make the final price one we were comfortable with.) So, to sum up: Staton remains our go-to provider of plumbing and HVAC services.

Josh came out within the scheduled timeframe, called me close to arrival, was very thorough and quickly identified the problem. He then patiently explained everything to me step by step. Repairs were completed quickly, professionally, with respect to my home and property, and did not cost me an outrageous amount. Overall, an excellent experience!

Chip an Craig came out to test the AC performance before the weather changes and to make sure the system is functioning properly. They were efficient, informative and friendly. The Fan on outside unit was not running. After an unsuccessful capacitor change the fan motor was changed. (The capacitor was under warranty.) Technician was friendly and knowledgeable.

Jason stayed late to make sure our severely seized shower cartridge got replaced and we had our water running again. Things got a little hairy due to how immovably stuck the cartridge was, including him having to go purchase a new cartridge puller to make sure the job could get done. Very thankful for how committed he was to helping us and that we didn’t end up losing water for days.

Jason came at 6, we had an insanely hard to remove shower cartridge that was leaking. It broke inside the pipe and he manually picked the pieces out. Jason stayed HOURS making sure it was fixed. He went above and beyond and didn't charge us above the estimate. We are very grateful.

Like most people, we found ourselves needing a new furnace somewhat unexpectedly, and it can be a stressful process knowing how big of an investment it is. From the very beginning, this company made everything much easier for us. Vincent was the person who came out to evaluate our system and provide an estimate, and he was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain our options clearly, and we genuinely trusted his opinion and guidance, which made a huge difference during a stressful decision. We had a small scheduling hiccup on our end, and Vincent personally stepped in and took care of everything for us, even though it was outside the normal scope of what would typically be done. He handled it seamlessly and made the situation completely stress-free. There was also a minor unexpected issue involving some wiring and drywall, and the team came back promptly and Vincent handled everything for us without any hassle. It was reassuring to see how thoroughly and professionally they addressed it. Vincent was great from start to finish, and the company is truly lucky to have him as an employee. We also want to give credit to the installers who did the actual installation—we don’t remember their names, but they were professional, careful, and friendly throughout. We’re very grateful for the entire team and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing heating and cooling services.

Great fast service, very pro install. My water heater was leaking from the bottom,. I called at 9am and had a new heater installed before 3pm. Paid a bit more for the emergency repair- well worth my piece of mind. Highly recommend!!

My heat pump smart Thermostat stopped working. Called on a Sunday. They sent a technician out the next day. Steve found the problem quickly and fixed it. I’m always impressed by the professionalism and knowledge. The technicians clean up as well. Chesapeake may be a little bit more expensive but they come once and do the job right. Being a member helps get you on the priority list. Before the big ice storm, Sean came out did a major repair on an outside spigot. He saved bursting pipes for sure. And saved me money on my water heater replacement by taking the time to notice it was still under warranty. Stanton is a family business and they stand by their work. I would highly recommend using them for plumbing and any HVAC needs.

Jason did a great job. He quickly realized that the sink that was clogged was not the best way to snake out the problem. So he snaked it from the bathroom sink which was immediately behind the kitchen. The clog got cleared and when they were finished they cleaned up and when they left it was as if they were not there. I would definitely use Stanton again.

They gave me multiple options, including suggestions on how to keep costs down. We currently have a gas leak and were informed by Washington gas that it was on our side. Staton was able to make an appointment for the next morning and Stephen came out to evaluate for the repair. Was right on time and I showed him where the leak was determined to be from the Washington gas personnel and then I asked him if he could evaluate the entire line because if we were going to do this work then I'd like for the entire indoor line to be evaluated for repairs. He went to turn the gas back on to evaluate for leaks and used a solution to determine that the leaks were actually coming from the gas meter. Even with that information he still did the entire inside line twice to determine if there were also leaks inside our home.
In the meantime I was on the phone with the Washington gas getting them to return and the technician redid the outside meter for me so that I could take pictures showing evidence of the leak.
On top of that he said he spoke to his manager and was not going to charge me for the evaluation which I was fully expecting to pay for because they came out and did their job it wasn't their fault that Washington gas was incorrect in their original evaluation.
I'm not even a returning customer this was a new customer experience because the HVAC company that we normally use told me it would be a week until they could get somebody out to assess which is unrealistic for a gas leak and your gas is turned off in the middle of winter with two babies at home meaning no heat and no hot water.
At this time I don't have any resolution for the gas leak because I'm waiting on Washington gas but I'm incredibly impressed with their responsiveness and how diligent they were in their process. They easily could have come in said oh that's where Washington gas said the leak was great it's going to be $2,500 to repair this inside line. Not only did they not do that but they also did their due diligence to diagnose the leak correctly which is ultimately going to keep my family safe.
The technician Stephen was also really nice guy. He did not blow off my concerns and /or my suggestions/questions and showed me what was going on instead of just rambling off with details. I appreciate expertise but I also need to know what it means in layman's terms as a homeowner. And I don't always have that experience when dealing with home repairs.
Looking forward to working with them in the future.

Horrifically expensive!
A straight forward sump pump installation...the pump itself was from Home Depot and cost under $400...it took approximately 30 minutes to install and the total price was $1,416!!... I needed the work done so I wouldn't have to stay up all night bailing out my sump pump so I signed for the work to be done...this was highway robbery!
The plumber that came out was great and I have nothing but good things to say about him.

I’m a little late in posting this, but Staton sent their tech Jason B. out to my house about 2 weeks ago for an ongoing issue with a toilet. Jason was amazing—super friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough! The issue with the toilet ended up being more complicated and taking more time than anticipated and despite us being his last call of the day he took his time and had such a happy demeanor. He also was very considerate of ensuring the floors in the bathroom and leading to the bathroom were protected and that he didn’t leave any messes behind.

I’ve worked with Staton twice and they’re great! Every plumber I’ve met has been very kind and professional, they always explain what they’re doing and why. Sam did a great job replacing my water heater recently, and I’ve worked with Steven and Jarrell in the past as well. I also really like that they send a picture and bio of the plumber that’ll be doing the work that day. I’d say they’re a little on the pricey side, but they were flexible in allowing us to buy our own equipment for them to install, and give a clear cost breakdown.

Jason Bonner was professional and friendly, and did an outstanding job of capping off the gas to a gas fireplace. In the process, he noticed a potential hazard regarding my hotcwater tank and took care of that as well.

Joe was professional and friendly, explained the issue with my clogged sink that was easy to follow. He was efficient and the job was done in a very timely manner.

Rodney Porter was professional, helpful, explained the job and got my new HVAC system install and my heat running beautifully! Super helpful, friendly, and now I'm extra warm and cozy on these freezing days. Highly recommend Staton! Love them!

Update: We just had Stiven in for our bi-annual maintenance on our 2 new HVAC systems and 2 older systems. One of our older systems was not running and we were unaware of it. He did such an amazing job documenting every piece of our system that needed repairs. I was so impressed with his level of detail and time that he took to explain what was going on and why it was not running and how we could fix it and help prevent future issues. Stiven did not rush to get the job done. I really appreciate that he took his time to do the job correctly. Robert was great! He was very friendly and easy to talk to. He explained what he was going to need to do to figure out why our sink had such low pressure. And took his time explaining what was wrong and how he could fix it.

Staton’s process for the installation of a mini-split system was first-rate from the initial consultation with their mini-split expert (Vinny) and Will Staton through installation. The installation was scheduled for 2 days after placing the order! A very special callout to Justin the lead tech for the installation. The installation was expertly completed with great attention to detail. Justin is very personable and extremely engaging. He strives for the customer to be happy. The installation resulted in a happy customer and a clean house.

I had water bib crack. Causing water to leak on the inside of my home. The customer agent was very professional and helpful. They were suppose to come same day for an emergency but had to reschedule for the next morning. I received my call for the morning. Josh was amazing. He was very friendly, professional, and informative. He also cleaned up after the service. Well done.

Rob and his helper arrived at our site within the time slot we were given. They were equipped with the tools and parts to complete our work request , (clogged busy office commode and bad stop valve replacement.) They completed all work in a couple hours, cleaned up well and were on their way. Good job Staton!

Thorough, detailed, polite. Great job!! Andrew ( and his partner) were polite, courteous, gave an evaluation of a number of issues that I shared regarding my complicated heating system. Very thorough and did not pressure to make any particular choices. The drain situation that I thought I had a solution to , that he followed up on did not work out for a number of reasons that he explained. He purged the system and brought the boiler pressure down to a level that he said was in the appropriate range. His work was neatly done. Good job!
